Calvin Li
Pre-McKinsey journey
Calvin started his career at 18, in investment banking at UBS AG, where he rotated through Prime Brokerage before working his way up to report directly into the Equities Chief Operating Officer. During this time, he completed his Bachelor of Commerce/Laws degree and started a B2C jewellery startup.
Calvin curiosity in politics and law led him to explore a brief stint in the US House of Representatives while navigating the government shutdown under Trump's 1st administration. Afterwards, he trialled experiences at an Australian-UK law partnership Allens Linklaters and a US-based law firm White & Case.
During COVID lockdown, Calvin pivoted back into the world of startups, exploring the sexual and mental wellbeing landscape. This experience was the catalyst for joining McKinsey - specifically to learn the playbook behind starting and scaling new businesses.
Time at McKinsey
At McKinsey, Calvin had the opportunity to lead teams and organisations in stints across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Shanghai. Along the way, Calvin experienced burnout and failure despite doing everything “right” and "trying his hardest". Part of this journey led him to explore mental health in an organization and ask questions of what genuine and brave leadership looks like. He learned best practices behind what bringing out the "best of people" looked like and ways to sustain long term growth by avoiding short term reactionary decisions in an era of rapid and endless information availability.
At McKinsey and with Stanford, he helped design and implement transformational programs for C-suite leaders - coaching them to lead with kindness, humility and clarity when making critical high-stake decisions.
Post-McKinsey Journey
Since leaving McKinsey, Calvin has been on a mission to provide career clarity and de-stress complex decision making for the new generation of future leaders.
His belief is that individuals with genuine clarity and grounded direction are less prone to feel anxious or be plunged into "survival model" when dealing with an onslaught of new information or faced with high pressure decisions. One of the core components of his work today involves teaching the problem solving fundamentals which form the backbone of McKinsey, Bain and BCG's candidate assessment - a "high pressure moment" for many people that go on to be future leaders of organisations and broader society.
By coaching these individuals on how to be calm and assertive in life's uncertain and high pressure moments, this create a ripple effect which brings out the very best in the other leaders under their guidance.

Pre-McKinsey Journey
Sisi Hu began her career at Monitor Deloitte and Nous Group, where she applied rigorous analysis to commercial and social-impact challenges before moving to deep-tech venture capital at Right Click Capital.
The trio of roles sharpened her ability to decode complex data, spot untapped potential and convert insight into action - skills she later channelled into entrepreneurship. That entrepreneurial leap came in the form of Truli, an award-winning sex-tech start-up that transformed cultural stigma into a market opportunity. Steering product, brand and fundraising, Sisi proved that empathy-driven design can unlock growth in the most unexpected spaces.
Her appetite for unconventional thinking next found a home at Macquarie Capital’s Principal Finance desk, where she backed original theses against prevailing market sentiment and helped deliver outsized returns.
At Google, she pivoted from markets to people, becoming a top-ranked Digital Strategist in translating intricate ad-tech into campaigns that resonated with both the commercial ambitions and personal motivations of her clients.
Time at McKinsey
Joining McKinsey & Company allowed Sisi to weave those strands together on a larger canvas. She guided leadership and technology strategies across mining, retail, finance and defence, and helped craft the firm’s flagship leadership-development offering— distilling lessons from senior military officers and global CEOs into practical playbooks for future leaders.
While at McKinsey, Sisi undertook a two year intensive at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), drawn by it's role as a formative experience for actress Cate Blanchett. Sisi honed her storytelling craft and on-stage presence, reinforcing her belief that analytical brilliance only lands when delivered with authentic humanity.
Post-McKinsey Journey
Today, Sisi channels that mosaic of humanity and sharp analytics in her approach to coaching ambitious students, early-career professionals and industry leaders. By uncovering their core strengths and turning them into clear, compelling narratives, she equips clients to navigate interviews, career pivots and high-stakes moments with balanced confidence.
Sisi’s mission today is show the next generation that creativity, rigorous problem-solving and empathetic leadership are complementary skills -and that a career built on all three can open doors far wider than any single job title.

Nathan’s career began along an unconventional path. After high school, Nathan deliberately chose to move away from the university degree path and experience the world of construction. It was there that he instilled a learning mindset and small daily progress via persistence, resilience, and the discipline to push past physical and mental barriers.
During this time, he also worked in the charity sector, which exposed him to people across all sections of society. He learnt to appreciate that behind every tough exterior or unforgiving tones there was a vulnerable origin story. Most importantly, he learnt the skill of getting everyone to be "human" and to bring out the inner playfulness and joy of adults no matter how old.
By the age of 21, he had channelled these lessons into entrepreneurship, by founding and scaling a boxing-fitness gym chain. His focus on culture and customer experience quickly drew the attention of Calvin and Sisi, who met him while benchmarking global leading fitness operators. After 2 years, Nathan successfully sold the business and decided to further build his M&A transaction experience.
After that period, Nathan broadened his M&A expertise across B2B energy infrastructure, where he has been leading multi-million dollar transactions and managing complex property developer relationships. Despite the highs of achievement and success, he has fondly remembered his time at the charity sector when human interaction was empowering and meaningful.
Nathan's conviction is that leadership is tested not in easy moments, but under pressure, and that clarity, empathy, and resilience are the qualities that allow individuals to perform at their best while bringing out the best in others.
